Turn troubleshooting into a trade — diagnose, repair and upgrade devices.
Every home and business depends on devices that eventually slow down, break or need an upgrade — and people who can fix them are always in demand. This program teaches the practical fundamentals of computer and electronic-device maintenance, from hardware diagnostics to software recovery.
Trainees work on real machines: disassembling and reassembling PCs and laptops, replacing components, installing operating systems, and learning the safe handling of electronic parts. The goal is a marketable repair skill that can become a job or an independent service.
The workshop has a permanent bench of donor machines — a mix of desktop towers, ageing laptops, and a few tablets — that trainees work through systematically across the eight weeks. A typical session starts with a fault diagnosis exercise (the trainer introduces a deliberate fault; trainees identify and fix it), then moves to a build or upgrade task, and ends with a brief on how to price and explain that job to a customer. The cumulative effect is a trainee who has handled enough varied hardware to problem-solve confidently on real customer devices from the first week of work.
Graduates can confidently maintain and repair computers and common devices — a skill that opens workshop jobs, IT-support roles, or an income-generating repair service. Graduates are also prepared to price, invoice, and manage simple repair jobs professionally — the business side of running an independent repair service.
