This program prepares women to produce and sell clothing at a professional level. Participants master the full garment-making process, from drafting patterns and cutting fabric through machine operation and finishing, and learn to offer alteration services or build a small production line for sale.
Each trainee works at her own sewing station throughout the program, moving from simple straight-stitch practice to constructing a complete garment by the final week. The training follows a real production sequence — pattern, cut, assemble, finish, press — so the workflow becomes intuitive rather than mechanical. Participants also spend time on fitting sessions, learning to adjust for common body variations, which is a core competency for any tailoring client base.
A typical week opens with a short review of the previous session's piece, then moves into a new construction skill applied to a real fabric sample, and closes with a timed exercise to build working speed. The finished garment from the final week is the main assessment piece — instructors evaluate construction quality, seam finishing, and fit accuracy. Graduates who take on freelance alteration work or set up a home workshop will find this documented garment useful as an early portfolio reference.
